ART: "A Selfish Kind of Innocence", Remus/Sirius, G

So I did art for The Quidditch Pitch's Phoenix Rising table, and since I won't be going to Phoenix Rising and most of you probably won't either, I'm posting it. This is the first Sirius/Remus ANYTHING I've done. It feels sort of like an accomplishment.

It was made to be cover art for She Will Have Music by thistlerose (which was a really good Remus/Sirius fic that you all should read. I hope I've done it justice.) Anyway, without further blathering, here's my very first Remus/Sirius fanart EVAR. Amen.

Eeee! I love seeing it all laid out and perfected! It's so exciting!

I adore the shoes eight kajillion times more now. XD And the cupcake! So sweet! The fingers are so pretty, all of them, everywhere! Did you add a new tree behind Sirius? If not, something changed and it's absolutely fucking gorgeous over there, now. And the boys! And their being in love! Clothes! Ahhh!

Eight kajillion you say? *squees* There's no new tree, but when you said the grass/flowers looked off, what I did was actually select that whole layer and scale it down some, so now you can actually see the trees that were there all along. And you were right, of course. I think it looks loads better now that you see more of the lake and the flowers aren't so...overpowering.

I love all the details - including the treads of their shoes. The color variations in the flowers and stone of the castle. Their expressions. This suits the fic perfectly, and is just gorgeous. Wow!

WOW on that background. love how they're wearing chucks, that make me laugh. their expressions are really interesting to me, though. i haven't read the story so i don't know why remus looks so awkwardly bashful, like he's been caught doing something he shouldn't have been (although i don't see what's wrong with bluebell(?) chains personally) whereas sirius has a bit of that ad;kfjasdklf-fuck under his breath sort of expression. like things haven't gone his way, at all, but he's going to try and be a good sport and only pull his hair out instead of committing acts of grievous harm upon the universe as he would prefer to.

I'm not sure if I can explain the awkwardly bashful look; really, what I was trying to show was him watching Sirius...sort of concerned, maybe? I'm not even sure. But I think bashful might go well with the fic, actually. lol re: Sirius' expression. XD That's exactly what he's thinking. Thank you so much for the loverly comment. XD
