FIC: REVOLVEVLOVER, Harry/Draco, NC-17

Title: REVOLVEVLOVER (original post at [livejournal.com profile] hd_fan_fair: here)
Rating: NC-17
Career Choices: Harry - Hit Wizard; Draco - Anti-Government Extremist
Warnings: Violence and other dark themes, excessive use of the word "fuck"
Summary: The work Harry does is justifiable. It’s justice. He works for his country, and his country is a republic—the magical side, anyway. It’s not laudable work, it’s not work he’s proud of, but it’s necessary work. Harry has always taken the necessary jobs that no one else has the stomach for. It's just that he's never deciphered a kill sheet and seen Draco Malfoy's name on it.
Wordcount: 46k
Author's Notes: This work is inspired by Zero at the Bone by Jane Seville. Some of the situations as well as a few lines of dialogue and descriptions come from there. A great big THANK YOU goes to [livejournal.com profile] sophie_french for the beta.

I'm not sure how we intended to pronounce this title. I call it Revolver in my head.

This was co-written with the inestimable, incomparable, and incapable of doing anything wrong: [livejournal.com profile] firethesound. She already made a claiming post here, but for completeness's sake, I am as well.

I love this fic, and I loved writing it with FTS. It was a really, ah, unusual prompt, but I really wanted to see if it could be done while still keeping the characters themselves at their core, and FTS was willing to indulge me, so thank you to her. :) Her Draco is really unmatched, imo.

I also want to say thank you to [livejournal.com profile] sophie_french for being such a great cheerleader and beta for us with this! She really went above and beyond and she caught so many of my weird fuck-ups and typos!

Lol, I call it "revolve-lover" in my head. Just sort of skip over that extra V. XD

Your lovely and alliterative compliments have utterly thrilled me. I'm beaming right now. <3

Haha! I think I originally called it Revolver Revolver in my head, just adding extra Rs and switching letters around willy nilly.

You are thrilling to work with!

Such a fantastic story! Loved the idea and the execution was as brilliant as I'd imagine from a you/fts collab, which is to say, really freaking brilliant.

Thank youuuu! I am so glad you liked it! It was definitely something new for both of us.

I call it Revolvelover. lol :D

And this fic is incredible. <3

Oh you would be the one to pronounce it correctly. Here are the two authors just making shit up for the pronunciation, and you're pronouncing our fic right when we aren't LOL. :P

OH WAIT. You left out the extra V! Smart thinking! Who the hell knows how this is actually supposed to be pronounced???

Thank you! I saw your rage flail about the ending and it made me giggle when we received the comment. :P

Yeah, no extra V for me. And it has a nice ring to it too! :D

A bit of rage, but, you know, STRONG EMOTIONS!!! <3

LOL, jumping in to say that I keep calling it "Revolve-evolver" in my head! And it's totally on my reading list. I don't think I can walk away from a fic by both you AND fire. :D

[identity profile] zeitgeistic.livejournal.com 2014-11-10 10:40 pm (UTC)(link)
lol! I think that was one of the early iterations of pronunciations in my head, but it got too complicated and ended up as Revolver.

I hope you like it. :)

*high fives* Left a quick, flaily note on FTS's post, but leaving one here, too: really, both of you went above and beyond with this. And claimed days of my life, even discounting that I read this twice in a row, because I couldn't think about anything else. I had to drag my best friend into it for company and sounding board. She got to the end and nearly punched me ahahaha. But I love the ending, even though that was actually a punch the first time. <3 More feedback later...of the flaily kind.

I've just finished reading it, and left a comment on AO3, but I wanted to come here and tell you just how much I enjoyed it! God, it was fantastic, and if I'd have known you'd had a hand in it even if I'd read it before the reveal - your ability to weave such complicated plots and make them intriguing and fully fleshed out is why I love your writing so much. And the ending was fucking perfect for these two characters you created; a fade to black as they go on fighting was exactly the right way to go - anything else would have lessened the impact of the story tbh! Omg I just loved it so much!!
